Omarchy Quattro on Acer C720
I converted my old Acer C720 Chromebook to run Omarchy Linux a while back. During that process, I went through some painstaking efforts to map my function keys to their equivalent actions in the operating system.
In Omarchy Quattro, the old .conf files were deprecated in favor of .lua files. Here is an updated snippet showing the Lua keybindings:
~/.config/hypr/bindings.lua
-- Acer C720 Function Keys
o.bind("F1", "Browser Back", hl.dsp.send_shortcut({ mods = "ALT", key = "Left", window = "class:^.*chromium.*$" }))
o.bind("F2", "Browser Forward", hl.dsp.send_shortcut({ mods = "ALT", key = "Right", window = "class:^.*chromium.*$" }))
o.bind("F3", "Browser Refresh", hl.dsp.send_shortcut({ mods = "CTRL", key = "R", window = "class:^.*chromium.*$" }))
o.bind("F4", "Fullscreen", hl.dsp.window.fullscreen({ action = "toggle" }))
-- Screenshots
o.bind("F5", "Screenshot full display", "omarchy-capture-screenshot fullscreen")
o.bind("SHIFT + F5", "Screenshot of a region or window", "omarchy-capture-screenshot")
-- Screen recordings
o.bind("ALT + F5", "Screen record", "omarchy-capture-screenrecording --fullscreen --with-desktop-audio")
o.bind("ALT + SHIFT + F5", "Screen record a region or window", "omarchy-capture-screenrecording --with-desktop-audio")
-- Brightness
o.bind("F6", "Brightness Down", "omarchy-brightness-display 5%-")
o.bind("F7", "Brightness Up", "omarchy-brightness-display +5%")
-- Volume
o.bind("F8", "Mute Volume", "omarchy-audio-output-volume mute-toggle")
o.bind("F9", "Mute Volume", "omarchy-audio-output-volume lower")
o.bind("F10", "Mute Volume", "omarchy-audio-output-volume raise")
-- Toggle dark mode
o.bind("SUPER + D", "Toggle Dark Mode", "$HOME/.local/bin/omarchy-toggle-theme")
That last one is a little script that I wrote to toggle between Tokyo Night and Catppucin Latte, so I can quickly test websites in dark vs. light mode.
~/.local/bin/omarchy-toggle-theme
#!/usr/bin/env bash
# Get the currently set theme from your active config (or track via a file)
# Substitute "tokyo-night" and "white" with your preferred dark/light theme names
CURRENT_THEME=$(omarchy theme current)
if [ "$CURRENT_THEME" = "Tokyo Night" ]; then
# omarchy theme set white
omarchy theme set catppuccin-latte
else
omarchy theme set tokyo-night
fi
